The Story Behind Centro Basco🍴

The Story Behind Centro Basco🍴
Centro Basco has been serving delicious Basque-inspired dishes in Chino, CA since 1940. For over 80 years, we have been a family-owned restaurant, and we’re proud to continue this tradition through three generations of the Berterretche family. What began as a passion for sharing our family’s rich Basque heritage has grown into a beloved gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

Our Basque Roots🌍

Our Basque Roots🌍
Centro Basco’s story is deeply rooted in the Basque Country, where the Pyrenees Mountains straddle the border between France and Spain. Owner Monique Berterretche hails from a small village near St. Jean Pied de Port, France. It’s from this area that our family brought the unique flavors, culture, and warmth of the Basque people to Southern California.

A Unique Dining Experience🍷

A Unique Dining Experience🍷
What sets Centro Basco apart is the experience we offer. In the Basque tradition, we invite guests to enjoy meals family-style, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both new & familiar faces. Our signature Boarder Table and Family-Style Menu allow guests to share multiple courses in a communal setting. Whether it's our monthly Boarder Table or our Sunday Family-Style dining, you’ll enjoy hearty meals like Pork Chops, Omelettes, Pot au Feu, and Fricassee Rabbit, paired with a glass of house wine.
